~ Safeguarding Your Secrets Online ~

With recent breaches of online security at major sites, keeping your sensitive data secure is more crucial than ever. This is some general tips to keep in mind when you're spending time online ::

Secure your web browser

Before visiting a single site, you can do a lot to protect yourself with privacy and security settings built right into Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome and other browsers. Make sure to understand the preferences, and set them to the levels you're most comfortable with.

Stay prudent during registration

Sites that ask you to register your e-mail address tend to state their terms and conditions of use. If you have any concerns, take a moment to read the small print. You might be signing up for more than you thought, including regular newsletter e-mails, or worse, authorising your personal info to be shared with third parties. If a site doesn't have any stated terms at all, that itself is a good warning to stay away.

Get another e-mail account

Some people find it helpful to keep a secondary account that is specifically used for registering on sites or when an e-mail address will be displayed on a public page. This may control the amount of unwanted e-mails, but does require time for managing the additional e-mail account.

Create secure passwords

Instead of common words, use long passwords that contain letters, numbers, and a mix of upper-and-lower-case characters. Try not to use the same passwords twice. This can be difficult, as you may have dozens of sites that you visit regularly. Ask yourself if you need to sign up, or if you can use a site effectively without registering. Write your passwords down if necessary, and keep your password list secure.

Monitor your social network activity

Most social network sites provide privacy settings that can be customised to your own comfort level. Note that the default settings may no necessarily be in the best interest of your privacy. Aside from these settings, be reminded that anything you put on your profile or otherwise interact with on the social site has a high chance of being seen and used by the social network company itself for other-possibly unintended-purposes.

Surf safely over WiFi

When using public or open WiFi  networks, avoid conducting sensitive transactions such as banking or government services. Even if you're only just browsing, use secure methods whenever possible. Facebook and Twitter, two of the most popular social sites, offer connectivity through secure HTTPS, but this has to be explicitly selected in your account settings(unsecured HTTPS is used by default).

Protect against viruses & malware

Install protection software to help protect against threats, and keep it maintained with the latest updates. New types of viruses and malware are introduced constantly. Do note that some of these can track and record your online habits, while even more harmful ones can use your computer without your knowledge to launch online attacks.

LoMoGrapHy

Lomography is the commercial trademark of Lomographische AG, Austria for products and services catering to the Global Modern art community of Lomographics photography. The name is inspired by the former state-run optics  manufacturer LOMO PLC of Saint Petersburg, Russia. LOMO PLC created and produced the 35mm LOMO LC-A Compact Automat camera-which become the centerpiece of Lomography's marketing and sales activities. This camera was loosely based upon the Cosina CX-1 and introduced in the early 1980s.

In other ways, It began with a fateful encounter in the early 1990s, when two students in Vienna,Austria , stumbled upon the Lomo Kompakt  Automat-a small, enigmatic Russian camera. Mindlessly taking shots from the hip, and sometimes looking through the viewfinder, they were astounded with the mindblowing photos that it produced-the colour were vibrants, with deep saturation and  vignettes that framed the shot-it was nothing like they had seen before! Upon returning home, friends wanted their own Lomo LC-A, igniting a new style of artistic experimental photography that we know as Lomography ! :))

~ What's the best way to discipline a toddler? ~ >_< ??

tOddLer oH toddLer =)

At any age, discipline should focus on teaching children how you want them to behave and not on punishment. Because children learn differently at different ages, discipline and teaching techniques should take into account the child's developmental level and ability to learn.

During the toddler years, the best techniques for teaching children how you want them to behave are repetition, distraction, and supervision.

RepetitioN

Repetition is important because children between the ages of one and three need a lot of practice to learn new concepts. The concepts involved in following directions, taking turns, and delaying gratification are new and challenging for toddlers and are learnt only through constant practice. It's no use getting upset because you've told your son over and over not to climb on the table-he may need to hear that a hundred or more times before he finally remembers what you have said so that he can use that information to modify his own behavior.

DistractioN

Distraction is especially important for helping toddlers avoid trouble. Once you've told your toddler not to climb on the coffee table, it may sink in better if you get him to leave the living room and to find something else to do. If you stay in the living room, you'll have to keep stopping him, and sooner or later someone is going to get frustrated.

The important things is that your child learns that 'no' means 'no', not that the two of you get into a battle of wills. Your child will eventually learn that climbing is not allowed, but he can find other fun things to do. You want him to learn how to find alternatives to behaviors you don't allow.

SupervisioN

Supervision involves being alert to your toddler's mood and avoiding difficult situations. Avoid confrontations by 'toddler-proofing' your child's environment so that most temptations are out of sight and true safety concerns are kept to a minimum. It's much easier for a child to learn what 'no' means if it applies to only a few situations-no hitting, no climbing, no running in the street, etc. - instead of a long list of no-no's (no touching the VCR, no touching the cat's food, no opening the cupboard doors, no going down the stairs, and so on) .

If things he's not to touch are out of reach and you put up gates to prevent your toddler from going where he's not allowed, you greatly reduce the number of rules and prohibitions he needs to understand along with his risk of making mistakes or even injuring himself.

~What type of your hair? ~

WHY SO SENSITIVE ?

hERE Are 4 CoMmoN ScaLp CoNdiTioNs

omg!! :)))

DAndruff

Not to be mistaken for dry scalp, this type of irritation occurs at areas with high sebum productions. ( It can also be a reaction to stress and anxiety.) Dandruff can be treated with medicated shampoo. If the problem persists or worsens, consult a physician.

DrY sCaLp

The clear indication of this is a tight, itchy and sometimes flaky scalp. Treat this as you would dry skin but with a moisturising or deep scalp conditioning treatment.

OilY ScaLp

This can be caused by hormonal changes, improper diet, excessive use of hair products or even environmental factors. Clean your scalp with a shampoo made  for oily hair and condition only the ends. Rinse hair with cool water to help slow down sebum production.

Scalp BleMisHes Or ScaLp FoLLiCuLiTis

Acne on the scalp appears when hair follicles get clogged by dead skin cells and sebum. When this happens, clean hair with a mild shampoo and rinse well.
